Beacon Rail Leasing was pleased to join Chiltern Railways at London Marylebone Station for the official launch of its new Mark 5A passenger coaches, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing modernisation of the Chiltern network.
The introduction of the Mark 5A fleet represents a major investment in improving the passenger experience, with the new coaches designed to deliver enhanced comfort, increased capacity and improved accessibility. The modernised trains will support Chiltern Railways’ long-term commitment to providing a high-quality, reliable service for customers travelling across the network.
Beacon Rail Leasing is proud to have supported this transformation through the provision of a new generation of rolling stock that not only meets evolving passenger expectations but also aligns with wider sustainability objectives. Powered by Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), the Mark 5A coaches will contribute to a reduction in carbon emissions, supporting industry efforts to advance decarbonisation within the UK rail sector.
